Free P4 Maths paper: Angles, shapes, symmetry and nets
A full Paper 1 and Paper 2 at the level of a very hard P4 end-of-year paper, in the PSLE format, for Singapore P4 pupils. 29 of the 100 marks are on angles, shapes, symmetry and nets; the rest cover the other P4 topics, as a real paper does.

The focus: 29 marks on angles, shapes, symmetry and nets, across both papers, from one-mark multiple choice to a five-mark final question. Also in the paper: Whole numbers, Measurement, Decimals, Pie charts, Data tables and graphs, Fractions, Area and perimeter.
Timing is up to you. Sit it in one go against the PSLE times for exam practice, or spread it over a few evenings as homework is.
Where the marks go in angles, symmetry and nets
P4 geometry is angles in rectangles and squares, lines of symmetry and the nets of solids. The figure does the work: a right angle split in two, a line that looks like a line of symmetry but is not, a net that almost folds into a cube.
The mistakes this paper looks for
- Naming an angle by the wrong corner
- Taking a rectangle's diagonal as a line of symmetry
- Choosing a net with two faces that would land on top of each other

Paper 1, Question 12 (2 marks). The figure shows the net of a cuboid. The whole net is 14 cm across and 18 cm from top to bottom, and one edge is marked 7 cm. What is the area of the shaded face?

From top to bottom the net is two faces 7 cm tall and two faces as tall as the side faces are wide: 18 ÷ 2 = 9, so that width is 9 − 7 = 2 cm.
Across, the net is the long faces and two side faces 2 cm wide: 14 − 2 − 2 = 10 cm.
The shaded face is 10 cm by 7 cm: 10 × 7 = 70 cm²
What the report tells you
- The score for each paper and the total, with the PSLE Achievement Level band as a guide, two years early.
- Angles, shapes, symmetry and nets skill by skill, apart from the rest of the paper.
