Free PSLE Maths paper: Volume and rate
A full Paper 1 and Paper 2 at P6 prelim level, in the 2026 SEAB format, for Singapore P6 pupils. 29 of the 100 marks are on volume and rate; the rest cover the other PSLE topics, as a real paper does.

The focus: 29 marks on volume and rate, across both papers, from one-mark multiple choice to a five-mark final question. Also in the paper: Percentage, Ratio, Fractions, Area and perimeter, Algebra, Circles, Whole numbers, Triangles and quadrilaterals, Measurement, Data tables and graphs.
Timing is up to you. Sit it in one go against the SEAB times for exam practice, or spread it over a few evenings as class homework is.
Where the marks go in volume and rate
Volume and rate meet in the tank questions PSLE sets most years: water poured between tanks, taps filling while a hole drains, a level that rises by a set height. Units, cm³ and litres, cost marks too.
The mistakes this paper looks for
- Forgetting that 1 litre is 1000 cm³
- Using the height of the tank instead of the depth of the water
- Adding the tap rates when one of them is draining

Paper 1, Question 12 (2 marks). A tank 40 cm long, 20 cm wide and 40 cm high is 1/4 full of water. How many litres of water are in it?
