Free PSLE Maths paper: Area and perimeter
A full Paper 1 and Paper 2 at P6 prelim level, in the 2026 SEAB format, for Singapore P6 pupils. 29 of the 100 marks are on area and perimeter; the rest cover the other PSLE topics, as a real paper does.

The focus: 29 marks on area and perimeter, across both papers, from one-mark multiple choice to a five-mark final question. Also in the paper: Whole numbers, Ratio, Average, Volume, Circles, Data tables and graphs, Measurement, Percentage, Triangles and quadrilaterals, Pie charts.
Timing is up to you. Sit it in one go against the SEAB times for exam practice, or spread it over a few evenings as class homework is.
Where the marks go in area and perimeter
Area and perimeter questions at PSLE are composite figures: a path round a garden, a frame, triangles inside rectangles, four rectangles round a square hole. Seeing the shape inside the shape is the skill.
The mistakes this paper looks for
- Counting a shared edge in a perimeter
- Using a slanted side as a triangle's height
- Mixing up the inside and outside measurements of a path or frame
Try a question from this paper
Paper 1, Question 11 (2 marks). A triangle with a base of 10 cm is cut from a rectangle 17 cm by 11 cm. The triangle's base lies along the 17 cm side and its top touches the opposite side. Find the area that is left.
